David Charash, DO Headshot

Dr. Charash is a principal in Dive Medicine and Hyperbaric Consultants LLC. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine in Emergency Medicine and Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine and a certified Wound Specialist. Dr. Dave Charash is a Fellow in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine and a certified Wound Specialist through the American Board of Wound Management. He has over 28 years of clinical practice in Wound Care, Hyperbaric Medicine and Dive Medicine. In addition, he has had leadership roles as Medical Director in Wound and Hyperbaric Medicine  with a focus on Quality, Patient Satisfaction and Engagement. David Charash works closely with industry experts in the fields of Quality, Coding, Billing, and Electronic Medical Records.

Dr Charash is the Physician Services Leader with Intellicure the best in class wound care specific electronic medical record.  He is also Advisor and Editor to Wound Reference.  This online tool is helpful in promoting safe clinical practice in both wound care and hyperbaric medicine. 

Dive Medicine Physician
DIVE MEDICINE PHYSICIAN

Dr. Charash has completed the NOAA/UHMS Dive Medicine Physician Course and is certified as a Level 11d Dive Medical Physician. In addition, he's a Level 1a Dive Medical Examiner through the UHMA course. A listed qualified Dive Medical Examiner on the Diver Certification Board of Canada (DCBC). Dave has had the privilege of working with the United States Coast Guard Academy and is an invited lecturer for their Cadet Dive Program. He has also lectured at the United States Navy, Naval Undersea Medical Institute and offers insights in basic and advanced dive physics. The United States Navy recognized Dr. David Charash for his dedicated teaching and support of the Navy's Undersea Community. Dr Charash is often a consultant with the Scientific Diving Community, Public Safety Teams, Commercial Diving Industry and Recreational Divers.

He is an advisor to the New England  Aquarium's Dive Control Board in Boston Massachusetts. Dr. Charash is a DAN Instructor, DAN Referral Physician, and DAN researcher.

He was most recently recognized with the DAN/Rolex Diver of the Year Award 2022. 

EDUCATOR

Dr. Charash lectures locally, nationally and internationally in all areas of Wound, Hyperbaric, Dive and Emergency Medicine. He’s a Divers Alert Network (DAN) Referral Physician and a DAN Instructor that teaches the following courses: Emergency Oxygen, First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries, Neurological Assessment, Basic Life Support: CPR and First Aid, Diving Emergency Management Provider, Diving First Aid for Professional Divers, CPR: Health Care Provider with First Aid Oxygen Emergencies. David Charash offers the 40-hour UHMS approved Introduction to Hyperbaric Medicine course.

WOUND CARE & HYPERBARIC MEDICINE PHYSICIAN

Dr  Charash has devoted his career to the practice of Wound Care, Hyperbaric, and Dive Medicine. As a Clinical Leader and Medical Director of wound and hyperbaric medicine programs he has directed teams of dedicated professionals in offering state-of-the-art care. He is a clinical instructor for the Life Support Technology's and Wound Education Partners Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine-approved Hyperbaric Medicine Course. He also is an active Site Surveyor for the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Society's Hyperbaric Accreditation Program. As a wound and hyperbaric consultant he offers his insight and experience in the evaluation of each and every program he works with. The focus of every evaluation is comprehensive and will include looking at Quality, Standardization and Cost Containment.
